For our part

We provide furniture suitable for people's needs from available stock, and deliver to their homes in the Mid Sussex area.

We are commited to reducing waste and pollution since we recycle items of household furniture and equipment which are of reasonable quality.

People who require furniture will need to be referred to FurniHelp by a care group. FurniHelp's prime care group referrers are:

West Sussex Social Services.
Downlands Housing Association.
Mid Sussex Primary Care Trust.
Sussex Oakleaf Housing Association.
West Sussex Health and Social Care NHS Trust.
Queen Victoria Hospital East Grinstead.

Donation of furniture

We welcome donations of furniture and other household items. We are happy to collect these items and in return we ask for a small donation to help the charity. Please see guidelines on items for collection below.

You can find us In Horsted Keynes Industrial Estate off Cinder Hill Lane. Turn right at the bottom of the main Estate Road.

Guidelines on items for collection

The following items should be accepted by phone and collected by drivers:
  1. Sofas, armchairs and three piece suites - must be clean, have appropriate fire regs and less than 10 years old.
  2. Double and single divan beds - fire regs essential.
  3. Single wardrobes and small double wardrobes.
  4. Small dining tables and/or kitchen tables.
  5. Dining chairs.
  6. Chests of drawers.
  7. Coffee tables.
  8. Bedside cabinets.
  9. Bookcases and bookshelves.
  10. Mirrors
  11. Double and single duvets and associated bedding.
  12. Crockery cutlery and kitchenware (Electric kettles, electric irons etc.).
  13. Washing machines and/or dishwashers.
  14. Electric cookers.
  15. Fridges and/or fridge freezers.
  16. Vacuum cleaners.
  17. Small electrical goods, e.g., kettles.
  18. Tumble dryers and/or spin dryers.
  19. Microwave ovens.
  20. Rugs.
  21. Bags of clothing.
The following items will NOT be accepted by phone or collected by drivers:
  1. Room heaters including oil filled radiators, fan heaters, etc.
  2. Electric blankets.
  3. Electric beds.
  4. Electric chairs.
  5. Glass topped tables.
  6. Glass shelving.
  7. Kitchen cupboards, units, cabinets etc.
  8. Gas cookers.
  9. All fitted furniture.
  10. All kit furniture.
  11. All furniture which is dismantled.
  12. Wall units if glass doors and/or shelves are part of the item.
Some discretion should be exercised about the following items.
The decision whether to collect or not will be made by the driver in all cases:
  1. Radios, stereos, TVs, computers, etc.
  2. Office furniture.
  3. Desks.
  4. Dressing tables.
  5. Sideboards.
  6. Any other items not included on either of the lists above.
